A good way to start planning is to visit cornwallpublictransport.info for timetables, maps and route information for services throughout Cornwall, or information about bus, train, coach and ferry services throughout the UK.
You could link bus and train, using the lovely Tamar Valley Line which runs between Gunnislake and Plymouth, stopping at several interesting places along the way. Click here for further information.
In time, we intend to make available some suggestions for days out here on the website.
Baggage ForwardingIf you are planning to walk or cycle around the Tamar Valley over a period of several days, you might like to take advantage of our luggage transfer service.
Plan AheadIf you intend to rely solely on public transport to travel around while staying at our bed and breakfast you should bear an important fact in mind. Although the services local to each area of Cornwall are generally very good, there are few long distance routes throughout the county. This means that trying to complete long return journeys in a single day may be difficult, if not impossible.
For instance, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the Eden Project by car from us, but travelling by bus requires four changes, and takes about four hours ! Therefore, if you would like to visit a number of different areas of Cornwall using public transport, it would be best to stay somewhere within each area and use the local services to minimise travelling times.
