We can also supply extra towels, throws, rugs and bowls, emergency dog food, toys, leads and collars on request. Dog friendly South Devon

There are lots of places in this area that you can visit with your dog – beaches and coves, pubs and cafes, steam trains and ferries. There are dog-friendly beaches at nearby Slapton

Sands and Torcross and our nearest village, Slapton, boasts two excellent ‘dogs welcome’ pubs. Other dog-friendly beaches include Bantham, Bigbury, Salcombe North Sands, Beesands, Thurlestone Sands and South Milton Sands.

Blackpool Sands has a total dog restriction between April and October, and Bantham and Bigbury both have a partial restrictions between May and October, but there is access to the estuary banks at low tide all year round. Further information about beaches can be found on the Kingsbridge Tourist Information website.

Dog friendly Walks

The walk down to the village of Slapton takes around 1 hour and includes bridle paths, some quiet lanes, a nature trail, two dogs welcome pubs (The Tower and The Queens Arms) and a beach about 3 miles long! Similar walks can be found inToby’s Dog Walks in South Devon which is provided in each cottage.

For sandy beaches try Mill Bay, which is situated opposite Salcombe, combined with a coastal walk to Gara Rock; or the soft sands of the Avon Estuary either at Bigbury or Bantham where although there is a restriction on the main beaches during the summer months, you can walk up the estuary at low tide.
