Many different out-patient clinics are also held here, including cardiology, neurology, gynaecology, rheumatology, ophthalmology, general surgery, general medicine, urology and various other services.

Mealtimes for patients

Breakfast: 8am
Lunch: 12.15pm
Tea: 5.15pm

During protected mealtimes, visitors are not permitted, unless they are helping you to eat. This allows patients time to eat their meal in peace. Protected mealtimes may vary slightly. Please check with the individual ward about times.

Visiting times

We welcome visitors from 2.30pm to 8.30pm.

Snacks and newspapers

League of Friends volunteers bring a trolley around the hospital each week. You can buy toiletries, stationery and some food and drink items.

Newspapers can be delivered by arrangement.

Phones

There is a payphone for patients to make calls to friends and family, so please be sure to bring change. The ward cordless phone can also be taken to patients if there are incoming calls.

Parking

On-site parking is free, but limited. Please ask your visitors to be sensitive to local residents when leaving their vehicles to come and see you.

League of Friends

South Molton Hospital League of Friends plays an important role in supporting staff at the hospital. As well as running the trolley, members raise money for ‘extras’ to support patients.

If you would like to find out more or to help, please ask at the hospital reception for League of Friends contact details.
